Meet Our Juror: Nathan Foster

Nate Foster is an artist, curator, art advocate, and instructor based in Harrisburg, PA. Nate has a design degree from the Maryland College of Art and Design and has worked sporadically as a graphic designer and an illustrator, but his passion is in fine art and increasing access to art in the community.

Since moving to Harrisburg in 2016, Nate has ingratiated himself into the local art community, winning a few prizes for his works on paper and teaching drawing classes at the Art Association of Harrisburg.

Nate quickly rose through the historic Art Association of Harrisburg ranks, beginning as an instructor and part-time help, then moving up through various positions to land at AAH Director of Exhibitions. He has been featured in local publications and appeared on NPR, discussing exhibitions he has curated. Most recently, he was quoted in American Art Collector magazine.

Nate’s passion drives him to deal with art even in his downtime - constantly checking art auctions and educating himself on art history. He is particularly interested in the cultural implications of ancient Asian art and how its influence informs contemporary art.
