York Art Association Announces 2025 Gallery Schedule for 220 South Marshall Street

As the New Year's confetti settles, it's time to share our 2025 gallery exhibition schedule with our members and friends of YAA. This year looks a bit different than in years past, as we plan, adapt, and focus our energies in many new and important ways at YAA.


We are preparing to move our facilities to our new location at the end of 2025. This will be a special year of transition, saying goodbyes, packing up, and bravely forging new paths toward creativity and community as artists and art lovers in our new spaces.


The gallery committee has planned the final exhibitions for our space at 220 South Marshall Street. Take a look at the schedule below and please save the dates to join us as we usher in each exhibit with a Sunday afternoon opening reception.

Nancy Woodward Gallery 2025 Exhibition Schedule

 

POETIC CREATIONS (JAN 19-MAR 2)

Poetic Creations explores the blend of visual art and poetic verse, inviting viewers to discover how language can inspire creativity. Poetry has a rich history of serving as a medium for sharing ideas, expressing emotions, and crafting vivid imagery, making it a significant and enduring aspect of art and culture today.

Open registration Registration opens: November 4, 2024 Registration closes: January 6, 2025 Opening reception: January 19, 2025, 2-4 pm; open to the public

ANNUAL SPRING MEMBERS' EXHIBITION (MAR 9-APR 20)

Our annual Spring Members' Exhibition will commence early next year and will celebrate our YAA members' diverse talents, featuring a variety of artworks across genres and mediums in an un-themed showcase.


Members only Registration opens: January 20 Registration closes: February 24 Opening reception: Sunday, March 9, 2-4 pm; open to the public





Running concurrently in our Sally Little Danyo gallery: Nancy Fine Exhibition

 

A FOND FAREWELL (APR 27-JUN 1)

This is invitational exhibit will feature some of our longest-standing artist members.  The showcase will be a retrospective of works over their tenure on Marshall Street.

THE ROTTLER AWARDS SELECTION EXHIBITION (JUN 8-JUL 20)

     The Rottler Awards for Excellence in the Visual Arts were established in 1998 to recognize

“excellence in the visual arts.” This exhibit will be the last Rottler Awards Selection in our current building and the award winners will be among our first to exhibit their works in our new gallery on Linden Avenue!


Members only Registration opens: April 28 Registration closes: May 27

Opening reception: June 8, 2-4 pm; open to the public


 

THE SOUNDS OF SUMMER (JUL 27-SEP 7)

Can you hear it? Birds singing, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, waterfalls rushing, cicadas droning, kids splashing, motorcycles roaring, lawn mowers buzzing... these are the sounds that bring summer to life. We are calling artists to make a piece of work depicting their visual representation, abstract or otherwise, of the sounds of summer. It need not be a literal portrayal of bees, frogs, etc. Let your creativity roam through the warm days of this wonderful season.

ANNUAL FALL MEMBERS' EXHIBITION (SEP 14-OCT 19)

Our annual Fall Members' Exhibition celebrates our YAA members' diverse talents, featuring a variety of artworks across genres and mediums in an un-themed showcase.


Members only Registration opens: August 4 Registration closes: September 2 Opening reception: September 14, 2-4 pm; open to the public


 

54th ANNUAL OPEN JURIED EXHIBITION (NOV 2-DEC 14)

Our final show of the year brings together the best and brightest of our region in our only juried exhibition. With an extended call, beginning in June and running until September, this show yields more than 300 pieces of art submitted for consideration, up to 110 pieces accepted, and $4,700 in cash prizes awarded. Details will be announced in June.
